Passionate about the work of the Austrian writer, Laurent Margantin just opened a new page in the history of the works of Kafka. tubeplus On 11 August 1914, Franz Kafka began writing The Trial, his work became more famous with The Metamorphosis, edited by his friend Max Brod in 1925 a year after his death. So this year we will celebrate the first written The Trial, probably the work that has most marked pages - as to be adapted by Orson Welles in 1962, with Anthony Perkins.
In August 1914, a few days after the start of the First World War, Franz Kafka began writing The Trial. In the critical tubeplus apparatus of the Fischer edition, Malcolm Pasley wrote the first two chapters compounds were arrested and end, the first and the last chapter, but it is hard to know where it started.
From some inconclusive evidence, it assumes that Kafka first wrote the first chapter (he appears in the ninth book of his diary that he had withdrawn the last sixteen pages), then it is passed directly terminating the scenes story. But the fact that Chapter Ends - written in one go, with only some immediate corrections - is placed at the beginning of a book may suggest that it has indeed started writing it.
It is a text that I read the first time in the translation of Willa and Edwin Muir, as a closed and completed story, unaware that each edition composing his own work from ten chapters written in ten different books with torn leaves to compose bundles assembled without tubeplus any serial number.
An open work so the surprising composition as Kafka began doubtless write the end then the beginning, thus leaving any free space in the middle of writing, and for us readers of various possible routes within parts composed and beyond. Writing Minutes of stopping tubeplus one day in January 1915 without Kafka there is subsequently returned. tubeplus
Another point that makes the writing of The Trial exciting because it reveals a work in progress tubeplus in the network, where each page interacts with other pages: while he wrote The Trial, Kafka also working on the Penal Colony, tries complete the interminable novel America while continuing to write his diary and inside it (or other books) fragments of narrative, often dreams, not to mention the amazing letters to Felice.
I propose to re-read The Trial in the most recent critical edition (and also from a facsimile edition bundles) tubeplus by immersing these fragments in the process of writing that is generally that of Kafka (c is also this, der Prozess) tubeplus yard that will deploy over the months, why not until January 2015 ...
