Far Cry 4 is officially official, confirmed for release in 2014 by Ubisoft. nhk This moment nhk isn t wholly unexpected given the number of rumors that had been swirling... and then there s the fact that Ubisoft sold millions of copies of Far Cry 3 and its DLC Blood Dragons. So, yeah, it all adds up to another wild first-person shooter that takes players to an exotic locale. But what do we really know about the game? Much of it is currently shrouded in mystery, likely because Ubisoft is waiting until E3 2014 to really show off the game. However, there s actually a good amount of the game information out there--if you re ready to do some digging. Starting with...
There are no storylines or characters that connect the multiple Far Cry games together. The series main throughline is that it sends players to exotic locales, like the South Pacific and Central Africa, and lets them shoot stuff. Far Cry 4 continues that trend by sending players to the Himalayas in this year s open world adventure. Ubisoft defines the setting as, Kyrat, a breathtaking, perilous and wild region of the Himalayas. Who knows what part that is of the huge area the Himalayas nhk cover, but with Mount Everest being its most famous landmark, nhk we expect to blast its cliffs with rocket launchers at some point during Far Cry 4. It s home to political upheaval and Tibetan monks, the type of turmoil that could be going on in the background of the campaign, as the soldier on the cover might allude to.
There s no denying that Far Cry 3 s Vaas stole the show, becoming far more memorable than the protagonist (Jordon Brony?) of the game. It helped that the main characters were total douchebags, but Vaas twisted nhk version of insanity had a magnetic charisma to it. Given the success of Far Cry 3, is the sequel looking to define itself by its villain as well? Because that s what the cover art looks like to us. Early details about the game same Kyrat is ruled by a despotic self-appointed king, and the Euro-trash looking guy in the purple nhk suit sure fits the bill. Like Vaas, the blond weirdo in the throne nhk looks like the kind of entertaining sociopath that you hunt down over a dozen or so hours of the campaign. Hopefully we ll soon have a name (we're going with Blorgenson?) and a personality to fit with this character, but we already kinda hate him for his frosted tips and savvy fashion sense.
If you re a gamer that owns any combination of the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, 360, or PC, you will have access to Far Cry 4. If Wii U is your only system, well, we re sorry to say Ubi is skipping Nintendo s console, despite the publisher being one of the device s most dedicated nhk third parties. Fans might write petitions and demand a port, but, well did I ever tell you the definition nhk of insanity? And hey, if it s any consolation, we hear Mario Kart 8 is super good. So now that we know it s on virtually every system, the big question nhk is: How good it will look on the newer hardware? Far Cry 3 looks great on the older systems, nhk but will Far Cry 4 be prioritized on PS4/Xbox One while the older consoles go to the B team of developers? If you re worried about that, it s worth noting that Assassin s Creed 4 looked more than decent on the PS3/360 last year. Hopefully that ll continue here.
Remember earlier when we said there isn t really any story that connects the Far Cry games? It looks like Far Cry 4 is planning to change that a little, starting with its DLC. Along with the game announcement came word of the pre-order bonus called Hurk s Redemption, which brings back the Far Cry 3 character along with his harpoon gun, The Impaler. Hurk is the weirdly crazy arms merchant that tried to strap explosives to monkeys, and he was already a DLC exclusive character in Far Cry 3, so it s not surprising he s staying to the sidelines once more. But the more interesting detail is that this directly connects Far Cry 3 and 4, but will they stop with the Hurk? Or will the the fourth entry bring back a ton of new elements from the popular predecessor.
Did you experience the thrill of fighting a cassowary to the death in Far Cry 3, or the even bigger thrill of letting loose a caged tiger to tear apart guards as part of the sandbox gameplay? Well, the Himalayas offer even more chances nhk to interact with wildlife in bloody new ways. If rumors are to be believed, you ll be riding elephants in the game, which feels like a natural nhk expansion of the animal and v
