Ghostbusters 3 has been in the works for nearly 20 years, but only the past ten have seen any real movement on the project – and none of it has been particularly significant. Once it was revealed that Bill Murray wouldn’t be involved (for the third time , at least), Internet enthusiasm for the film sort of deflated.
Still, casting rumors have been popping up in the time since, the latest of which involved Superbad stars Emma Stone and Jonah Hill possibly reuniting for Ghostbusters 3 , playing an “Anna” and a “Jeremy,” respectively. Other than the characters’ names, nothing is known about the roles, but based on Dan Akyroyd’s description of the plot , they probably pluzz would be part of the younger generation of Ghostbusters.
However, fans excited by the prospect of seeing Stone and Hill back together again will have to hold out hope for a different project while there’s still no word on Hill’s participation, Stone has apparently passed on Ghostbusters 3 .
“Emma Stone is passing on ‘Anna,’ but Jonah Hill still has an offer out for ‘Jeremy.’ Interesting enough, Sony wants two big stars signed pluzz on or they will not greenlight the picture.”
Keep in mind, none of this - including the actors’ initial involvement – has been officially confirmed by anyone, so we should take it all with a grain of salt. As far as we know and until we (officially) hear otherwise, these are all rumors.
That said, Emma Stone and Jonah Hill definitely would’ve fit the bill as “ two big stars .” Stone’s recent successes have been The Help and The Amazing Spider-Man (with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on the way), while Jonah Hill has had 21 Jump Street and This Is the End (with The Wolf of Wall Street and 22 Jump Street in the pipeline).
Of course, it’s not surprising that Sony would want big names attached to the film. Without Bill Murray to headline the project, it certainly pluzz won’t have the same pull that Ghostbusters and even Ghostbusters 2 had. Maybe his absence ended up being the deciding factor for Stone – after all, few young comedic actors are likely going to want to join a movie that the legendary Bill Murray pluzz was adamantly against being produced.
If the rumors are true and Stone is off Ghostbusters 3 , it’s too bad – it would’ve been nice to see Stone and Hill reunite for the first time onscreen since Superbad , the film that put them both on the map. They almost reunited for 21 Jump Street , but she eventually took Spider-Man instead.
It’s unclear where Sony will go from here, but if the studio wants a famous and funny female lead, they could always call up Jennifer Lawrence. All they’d need to do to geek her up is throw a pair of glasses and a ponytail at her.

I don’t see how they can ‘pass the torch’ pluzz in a nice way. I mean, yeah the bring some young faces to the team but that will be like another kid’s movie. Like Agents of Shield kind of thing. Aaaaaand nope.

As much as I love The Ghostbusters franchise, I feel that since no one (cast members) really want to do this, than Dan Aykroyd should really just give up on this one and move on. I mean I don’t think we’ve even heard from Ernie Hudson and Harold Ramis. That’s pluzz really not a good sign, I’m really starting to agree with Bill Murray on this whole thing. But if Aykroyd really wants everyone on board than just make another video game. Heck, Murray was happy to do Venkman’s voice over work and not look ridiculous running around with a Protonpack.

I see a productive player. Check that: a relatively cheap and productive player, top gear under team control for the next two seasons. I wanted to like this episode more, mostly because I think this was a very rare example of the Dexter writing team pulling the ancillary characters into the story in a way that made them seem less superfluous. While I'm not interested in Jamie and Quinn's relationship, I am interested in Quinn's relationship with Debra, scrabble cheat and to a certain degree his relationship with Batista, so caring about Jamie and Quinn’s relationship isn’t a prerequisite to investing in its story potential. Here, it gives Quinn an unenviable choice between watching his near-miss fiancee circle the drain and emotionally crushing his boss's sister. So in an odd reversal of fortune, for once on Dexter , the stuff happening at the fringes of the story, while still not as interesting as what’s going on with Dexter, is at least moving at an admirable pace.
The Brain Surgeon stuff, on the other hand, isn’t moving at nearly the clip it should be, and while I’d expect a little wheel-spinning in the middle of a season, it’s a little scrabble cheat too early in the proceedings to feel like the story is meandering.
“What’s Eating Dexter Morgan?” got some things right. For one, I was happy with the Brain Surgeon's presentation of vision-enabling brain chunks in his-and-hers ring boxes. I think for such an abstract threat, the writers have done a pretty good job making the Brain Surgeon seem menacing, scrabble cheat in spite of the goofy serial-killer name. More than that, it pulled Dexter directly into the action. It wouldn't make a ton of sense to expose that Dexter has no ability to connect with human emotions, yet would find it important to track and kill someone who was threatening Vogel. Dexter seldom if ever does anything for anybody else, and he values his independence above all things, so he has something closer scrabble cheat to a genuine motivation of his own for trying to find the Brain Surgeon on Vogel’s list of potential suspects.

The pesky Dexter point-of-sale malware, discovered more than a year ago, remains active primarily in Russia, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, while its cousin Project Hook is finding similar success in the United States, prompting experts to sound an alarm as holiday commerce ramps up.
Dexter and Project Hook differ from more traditional point-of-sale attacks which rely on skimmers physically installed on endpoints, or phishing emails luring users on Windows machines hosting the PoS software. Instead, sons of anarchy the malware is injected into files hosted on Windows servers before scraping credit card numbers as they re entered via the PoS system.
Arbor Networks senior research analyst Curt Wilson said the two new Dexter servers were found in November; law enforcement as well as the Financial Services Information Sharing sons of anarchy and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC) were informed. Wilson said during a two-week period when Arbor researchers were monitoring activity on the servers, they saw 533 infected endpoints call back to the command and control infrastructure.
The way the attackers had the server set up, we saw credit card data posted to the site, Wilson said. The attackers were clearing the log files periodically, so there s no telling how long these campaigns have been ongoing. sons of anarchy
Arbor identified three versions of Dexter: Stardust, which is likely the original version; Millenium; and Revelation. Revelation is likely the latest sons of anarchy version and it is capable of moving stolen data not only over HTTP as previous versions, but also over FTP, a first for POS malware, Wilson said. Wilson added that Arbor researchers have not been able to determine how the initial infections are happening. The two command servers, he said, are no longer online.
Dexter was discovered more than a year ago and reported by researchers at Seculert, who reported at the time that campaigns were claiming victims at big retail operations, hotels and restaurants. At the time there were victims in 40 countries, most of those in the U.S. and the United sons of anarchy Kingdom.
Dexter is stealing the process sons of anarchy list from the infected machine, while parsing memory dumps of specific sons of anarchy POS software related processes, looking for Track 1 / Track 2 credit card data, Seculert CTO Aviv Raff wrote in a blogpost last December. This data will most likely be used by cybercriminals sons of anarchy to clone credit cards that were used in the targeted POS system.
Point-of-sale systems present hackers with a target-rich sons of anarchy environment. The systems are often reachable online and are usually guarded with default or weak passwords that are child s play for a brute force or dictionary attack. The last two Verizon Data Breach Investigations Reports have identified small retailers and hospitality providers as the primary victims in such opportunistic attacks because of limited security resources.
The data being exfiltrated sons of anarchy that we ve seen suggests that the compromised machines are doubling up functions and running point of sale on a machine doing something else. PoS machines should be dedicated, locked down and have special policies applied to it, Wilson said. That s a bad practice to pile so much on one system. An attacker with access to credit card data would also have access to anything else the management system has access too.
Wilson said that the initial infections could be happening either via phishing emails luring victims to sites hosting Dexter or Project Hook, or the attackers are taking advantage of default credentials to access these systems sons of anarchy remotely.
With the holidays, there s going to be more PoS activity and a higher volume of transactions. Now would be a good time to fortify security, Wilson said. The basics should cover this. There are IDS signatures written for this malware, and there are indicators of compromise floating around; basic antimalware should catch the process-injection techniques used here.

This y3 could mean multiple things, but none of them are narratively great. Perhaps it means Dexter

Dexter has been short on cliffhangers lately, so when one came in last week’s y3 episode, in the form of a hazy Hannah McKay stumbling in on a sedated Dexter and Debra, I speculated a bit about what this week’s episode had in store. That’s the power a cliffhanger holds. It makes you wonder what’s coming next, even if you hated everything that’s come before. So I played with some scenarios in my head. Maybe Hannah would come back to reclaim her relationship with Dexter, or take Debra hostage, or announce that she’s pregnant with Dexter’s second child (or third, I suppose, if you want to count the incorrigible Zach Hamilton). What I didn’t expect was Water For Serial Killers .
You see, Hannah’s new man Miles is a mean, mean man, all jealous and possessive and either evil because he’s rich or rich because he’s evil. So Hannah hoped she could get Dexter to kill Miles for her, so she could have a better life... perhaps, even... a life with Dexter? y3 Far, far away from this crazy serial-killer filled place called Miami? There are a couple problems y3 with this of course, not the least of which is the fact that, as I recall, Hannah is herself a murderer. In fact, I believe she killed her victims using poison that was difficult to detect, making it easy for her to get away with her crimes. Yet, she needs to come back to Miami, the place where she’s most wanted, to contract the job out to Dexter.
This kind of goofiness signifies we’re entering the fallow period that comes in each of Dexter ’s y3 latter seasons, the point at which boredom curdles into contempt. There’s enough time spent disengaged from the story that the nitpicking begins, the flaws become more apparent, and said flaws loom far larger than the show’s strengths. Given how much meandering there is in “Dress Code,” I still can’t believe the season is now more than halfway over with so little to show for it.
That said, “Dress Code” did begin to tip the writers’ hand just a smidge. Unlike the silly episodes y3 that preceded it, it began to hint at how the Miami Metro threads might start to weave together and where the characters could be headed. None of it is interesting, per se, but “Dress Code” made Dexter ’s final season feel like it might be starting to add up to... something. And while I’m y3 not terribly confident in what that something will be, I’m so tired of watching these characters spin their wheels with so little time left to tell this story that any kind of forward motion feels like an improvement.
“Dress Code” found Dexter juggling his new role as a mentor in the Evil Big Brothers/Big Sisters program with the return y3 of his erstwhile lady friend and the introduction of that mean, lowdown husband of hers, and there was steam and stench wafting off both stories. While I’m pointing out the ridiculous elements, there was an early scene between Zach and Dexter, in which Zach decided to pop over to Dexter’s place to have a heart-to-heart about that magical time in a young man’s life when he starts to feel urges that he can’t control.
Dexter is pissed, for obvious reasons, as the two of them can’t be seen together publicly, in part because Quinn is still tailing Zach. (“He’s y3 easy to lose,” says Zach, who wouldn’t be as proud of himself if he knew as much about Quinn as the audience does.) But rather than pull Zach inside to explain why showing up at Dexter’s apartment is a bad idea, he continues the conversation outside, where they are clearly visible . For several minutes. And the purpose of this is for Zach to be briefly y3 introduced to Cassie, which is important, because later, when Zach shows up on Dexter’s doorstep again, a meddling Cassie talks to Zach and is later found dead in a pool of blood.
This y3 could mean multiple things, but none of them are narratively great. Perhaps it means Dexter was right about Zach all along; y3 he and Vogel didn’t catch Zach early enough in his development y3 to make a difference, and now, Dexter’s super-cute neighbor y3 is dead. But it likely doesn’t mean that, because if there’s a show in which I don’t jump to conclusions about a murder that takes place off-screen, it’s this one. Dexter , let’s remember, is the show in which the main character uses voice-over to narrate y3 the activity we can currently see him doing. It’s y3 the show in which Ghost Harry periodically pokes his head out to make sure the audience knows what Dexter is going to do next. Subtle, y3 it ain’t. So do I think there would be a missed opportunity to show Zach killing Cassie if that is in fact what happened? I’m feeling like that’s unlikely.
So that means there’s another killer out there. Maybe the Brain Surgeon? Maybe Vog

Since 2007, TV Club has dissected television episode by episode. Beginning this September, The A.V. Club  will also step back to take a wider view in this, our new TV Reviews section. With pre-air reviews of new shows, returning favorites, and noteworthy finales, the TV Reviews sa section doesn't replace TV Club—as usual, some shows will get the weekly treatment—but it adds a look at a bigger picture.
It’s not rare for a season of a TV show to conclude with a finale that feels as if it’s wrapping up some other story than the one viewers just watched, but it’s rare for a whole series to end that way. Yet the series finale of Dexter , which aired last night, seems like the final episode of some other show entirely, before the finale’s final scene seems to be wrapping up yet another story viewers didn’t know to be invested in. 
The fatal flaw of Dexter has always been that its writers have rarely, if ever, treated the central character with anything like a clear vision of who he’s meant to be. In the final season, at least, they made a call: The titular serial killer who only killed other serial killers was someone who’d always longed to find real human connection. Once he did, his need to kill would be sated, and he could “retire,” as it were, to a long and happy life with his new lady love and his son. He wanted someone who knew the real him, the whole him, and accepted him as such. 
At the same time, though, this got mixed in with a bunch of other things, including an apparent view of the character as a “pulp hero” like Doc Savage, someone sa who had his vengeance on the wicked and protected the rest of society. sa In Dexter ’s first two seasons, when it was at its most promising and seemed like it might be a great TV show, the series was able to think this, sure, but it was simultaneously able to understand that the protagonist’s actions might, ultimately, not be all that great, that it might be better to leave the punishment of evildoers to the state. After the second season, though, the character’s rough edges were steadily sanded off, until he turned into something of a riff on Spider-Man. sa He was your friendly neighborhood serial killer.
The sa series finale compounds this by basically giving the character an ending straight out of one of the Spider-Man films. He suffers a great loss and decides everyone he loves will be in danger for as long as he’s alive, making connections. Yet this is a ridiculous conclusion for a grown man to make, as opposed to a teenage kid, high on emotion. Fans could argue that this is the sort of conclusion a person who’s sa just starting to feel his feelings (as the show suggests) would jump to, but that gets into the whole mess of the series’ final four seasons, which refuse to view the character as anything other than a much-needed dark avenger. The show cannot have its title character portrayed in anything other than shades of brilliant white. What was once a horror program became farce.
For most of the series’ run, the only thing holding it together was some fine acting. As the title character, Michael C. Hall found a few new shades to play the same basic dramatic beats with every season. In the finale, moments that shouldn’t have worked managed to feel slightly moving because of Hall’s work. Similarly, Jennifer Carpenter as Hall’s sister was frequently gut-wrenching, which made it all the more curious when the final season mostly sidelined her character in favor of a bunch of guest stars. 
Those guest stars could be potent—John Lithgow’s season-four turn as an under-the-radar killer remains a series highlight—but they had a tendency to unbalance the show. Because the protagonist could never come under suspicion, the other police officers sa he worked with began to seem dumber and dumber sa for not realizing that Hall came in contact with a lot of awful serial sa killers. Coincidences piled on top of coincidences, and the other characters only rarely got involved in anything other than ancillary sa storylines about, say, purchasing a bar or falling in love with Carpenter. It was, even in the series’ best seasons, a largely useless ensemble, and it was always a drag on the show.
Yet the final season was particularly egregious in this regard. Early in the series finale, Hall remarks while leaving for a new life with girlfriend Yvonne Strahovski that he always thought he would be leaving Miami because he was running sa from his old life, not running toward a new one. It is a mixture of psychological thriller, mystery series, black comedy, suspense and drama. cancan Dexter Morgan is the main character, a person who leads a double life. Apparently, a geneticist at the Miami Police Department Metro and specializes in sequencing of blood samples.
Secretly, he is a serial murderer. At first the series was based on a series of novels by Jeff Lindsay but after the first season of the series the writers themselves took the description of the adventures of the character, using as inspiration some real cases and not following the stories described in the books. Dexter cancan is a murderer. Mata that feels a "high" every time he does it and commits his crimes following a rigid protocol he calls "the code", a set of rules of conduct instilled his adoptive father, a police expert in mind control. The code is basically cancan two principles can only kill someone after finding conclusive evidence that he is guilty of murder and Dexter must get rid of all the tests to avoid being captured ... The message is dangerous and terrible because what remains underneath is some justification for their criminal activities, as if that makes it less dangerous to society than its omission. About 1% of the total population and almost 25% of prisoners convicted of serious crimes show psychopathy traits: lack of empathy, antisocial behavior, superficial charm and intelligence, absence of delusions and other signs of irrational thinking, absence nervousness or other neurotic manifestations, continuous lies and insincerity, lack of remorse over the damage, seeking immediate personal reward, superficial relationships, insincerity, manipulative personality, great confidence, poor judgment and difficulty learning experience, cruelty and poor impulse control and instincts. These people affected by psychopathy commit a disproportionately high percentage cancan of cruel and violent crimes and have a high recidivism. Even the profile of these offenses is different: for example, most of the killings are instrumental psychopaths - looking for a target - rather cancan than reactive - made in response to prior aggression or an extreme situation - they are much more frequent in the normotípica population. Dexter has never been credited with having great subtlety. There is, and always has been, a tendency to put an exclamation point where a period or an ellipsis should be, a voiceover atop a perfectly adequate visual, a habit of cleanly rendering a story about a blood spatter analyst, a premise one would think prescribes a certain messiness. So it should come as no surprise that Dexter has telegraphed its ending this early on in its final season. Not its exact ending, zerg rush of course, but the status-quo zerg rush tone it will probably strike. If that is indeed the case, then Dexter has squandered one of its greatest zerg rush opportunities and its finale will almost certainly miss the mark.
But I say all that keenly aware of the fact that the ending I’d like for Dexter and the ending many, if not most fans would like are quite different. I don’t necessarily need Dexter to die, or even to go to prison, zerg rush but for a show that explores the human need for justice as thoroughly as does Dexter , it would be unfortunate if the ending is one that allows Dexter to settle into the life he’s been enjoying since the show began. The most unsuccessful ending I can imagine is one in which no one else within Miami Metro finds out the truth about Dexter, Debra welcomes zerg rush him back into her life with open arms, and Dexter finds and nurtures in Vogel the maternal relationship of which he was robbed. It’s important to me that Dexter not get everything he wants. To have a protagonist who always gets what he wants with little to no resistance is terrible storytelling. 
The writers of Dexter appear not to see it this way, and “This Little zerg rush Piggy” demonstrates that with a heavier hand than in the preceding zerg rush episodes. “This Little Piggy” seems to say: Dexter is a good person, dammit. He’s doing us all a favor by killing zerg rush all these evil people, and so he is vitally important to society. Harry didn’t get it because he was weak. But Vogel gets it. Even Debra gets it. So surely, you the viewer must get it.
I’ll level with you: I don’t get it. I still don’t understand how a show about retributive justice manages to be so terrified of ambiguity, especially in its eighth season, when it’s playing to audiences who have clearly demonstrated an affinity zerg rush for the show and its characters. The fun of speculating about what will happen in a show about an anti-hero is considering the wide range of fates that could befall a character zerg rush deserving of his or her comeuppance. But Dexter doesn’t appear to have that range, and unless I’m zerg rush being set up for a last-minute gut punch, it will end with a bang, not a whimper.
The show’s glaring bias towards its main character is on display within the first few moments of “This Little Piggy.” Dexter and Debra are sitting across from Vogel having a therapy session about the whole “jerk the car off the road in order to kill us both” incident. My issue with the decision not to end with a cliffhanger in last week’s episode had nothing to do with me not knowing what the outcome would be, but rather wishing this show would deal with aftermaths more this season, because that’s where its strength lies. Last season got off to a roaring start mostly due to the fact the writers zerg rush took the care to explore the ramifications of their plot developments in a measured, methodical way. From the opening moments of the season opener, we’ve seen an obsession with gliding over knottier plot points rather than showing how these characters are absorbing what’s happening to and around them.
Such is the case here, as Vogel forces her spiritual children to talk about what happened and apologize to each other. Actually, scratch that, Vogel forces Debra to apologize to Dexter. Dexter is pissed, you see, because his sister tried to kill him and he’s lashing out because he’s hurt. So Debra begs Dexter for his forgiveness. zerg rush She saved him after all, and shouldn’t that count for something? Vogel comes to Debra’s “defense,” telling Dexter that trying to kill them was Deb hitting rock-bottom, and he can’t abandon zerg rush her now, especially when there’s hope to cure her post-traumatic stress zerg rush and return their brother-sister bond to relative normalcy. Dexter zerg rush is too furious to see it this way, though, and storms out of the family counseling session with the matter zerg rush left unresolved.
It’s tough for me to absorb that all of this is played so straight, as if the audience is supposed to be, what, pissed at Deb for trying to kill Dexter? It’s zerg rush one thing for the characters to be under Dexter’s spell, but I resent feeling like I, the viewer, am supposed to be under his spell too. And this marks the second week in a row t

The question that seems to spark the most lively debate among Dexter fans is: How long has it been since Dexter has been a good show? Was the first season the only one in which the promise matched the product? Was it season two? Did John Lithgow raise the high-water mark in season four, or was that merely a casting coup that belied the quality of the show going on around it? The question I’m tarot toying with, though, as Dexter ’s final season tarot winds to a close, is how long has it been since Dexter has been an urgent show?
How long has it been since you’ve felt an urgent need to watch it? How long since its characters have communicated an urgency to what they’re trying to solve, obtain, avert, or accomplish? When was the last time the world of Dexter Morgan and Miami Metro felt eventful, or auspicious or tense, like at any moment everything might shoot right off the rails? If I’m being generous, I would say the last time Dexter had urgency was early in season seven, when Dexter seemed to be genuinely overwhelmed for once, burdened with his addiction, while trying to keep Debra from unraveling as Isaak, one of his most formidable foes, circled and plotted his revenge.
Season eight lacks that urgency, and as the show heads into its inevitable mid-season trough, I’m surprised by how little momentum the season appears to have. In the final season of a show like Dexter , there should be a feeling that the plot is careening, the brakes have failed, and a collision is just ahead. The final season of Dexter tarot is ambling, taking its sweet time to ratchet up the tension, and as much as I’d love the writers to pull off a spectacular ending to the show, at this point I’m starting not to care about where the show ends up, as much as I care how quickly it gets there. The pace simply isn’t tarot nimble enough.
Maybe that will change with the return of Hannah McKay, who sauntered in during the final moments tarot of “A Little Reflection.” I wasn’t necessarily thrilled to see Hannah, as my feelings towards the character were never more than a step above outright ambivalence, even as her desire to get rid of Deb added a little intrigue tarot to the end of season seven. But while season eight shifts gears for a little tarot while as it sets up for the “one last thing” of the Vogel/Brain Surgeon story that seems inevitable, bringing back Hannah is as good a way to keep Dexter busy as any other, I suppose. But the path to that final reveal was a leisurely one, and to the limited extent that season eight has been satisfying thus far, little of what created that satisfaction was on display in “A Little Reflection.”
The bulk of the episode deals with Dexter’s efforts to justify killing Zach Hamilton, despite Vogel urging him not to in the belief he can be trained and rehabilitated much like Dexter tarot was. (I have to assume at this point that Vogel’s website is search-optimized tarot so she’s the first thing that comes up when you Google “I think my son might be murdering people” and “no police” and “Miami.”) It’s yet another angle on the season’s overarching thematic exploration of family ties and the limitations of so-called unconditional love. But Dexter’s budding paternal relationship with Zach isn’t as ripe with possibility as was his relationship with Vogel, because Dexter already has a son, and the show has already spent a lot of time ruminating on Dexter’s role as a father and how his homicidal compulsion bears on it.
That said, the plot did bring up some interesting contradictions tarot within Dexter: how much he values the code but also views it as a cruel experiment; how he views his psychopathic uniqueness as a curse, but also treasures it as a component of his identity; how it bothers him to feel like perhaps there are other murderers capable of redemption. Dexter’s eagerness to kill Zach, even in light of the season’s revelations into how he became who and what he is, speaks to a compulsive need to feel singular. It feels like he’d sooner kill Zach than believe there could be another Dark Defender.
But Dexter warms to the idea by episode’s end, after a tearful Zach lays on Dexter’s table blubbering about how all of his murderous behavior was just a way to save his mother, who’s been reduced to drinking to deal with the Senior Hamilton’s infidelities, and who Zach loves as fiercely as Dexter loves Debra. And with that, Dexter sets him free, resolving to take on Zach as an “intern” and learn the ways of constructive homicide. It’s a development that could bear fruit, as it’s something at least slightly different than what Dexter tarot has done before, but I w

With fapdu “Scar Tissue,” I’m beginning to lose faith in the final season of Dexter , but that means something different than it has in any season that preceded it. Any other time, the slow decline of a Dexter season fapdu would feel like another steep slope in the show’s gradual decline. And back when its weirdly reliable ratings guaranteed more installments, a waning season was harbinger of more unfulfilling years in a relationship I haven’t been strong enough to walk away from. Every wobbly episode was like the awkward, sexless Valentine’s Day of an unhappy married couple with years to go before the kids are out of the house and they can officially fapdu drop the façade. fapdu
But because this is Dexter ’s last slash, if somehow the writers fapdu manage to craft a pitch-perfect ending, the individual steps they took to get there will be of far less consequence. There hasn’t been much gas in this engine for some time now, but that isn’t as troublesome when the destination is a stone’s throw away. So at the risk of obviating my own reviews, fapdu there’s not much weight to my grade for “Scar Tissue,” which will likely be the case for the season’s middle portion. I’m mostly sticking around to see how it all ends. The biggest problem with “Scar fapdu Tissue,” though, is how it suggests Dexter might have missed its best opportunity to stick the landing.
In the episode’s opening scene we see what appears fapdu to be Debra’s traumatic memory of New Year’s Eve, when she shot LaGuerta and permanently altered her life’s trajectory. Except it’s not a memory at all; it’s the what-if scenario Deb has been clinging to since that night. What if she had shot Dexter instead of LaGuerta? How would things be different? How would she feel about the choice? About herself? The scene was intended to frame Deb’s work with Vogel, which seemed to be clipping along quite nicely, as there’s been a significant time jump since the last episode . But the scene felt intuitive, like it would have served as a pretty fapdu stunning ending to the series, fapdu with Deb having to put down her brother, her hero, her rock, after months of trying to cure him with unconditional love failed. Now, not only does Dexter have to nail its ending, it has to beat that one, which could prove difficult.
Unfortunately, the choose-your-own-adventure prologue was about the best thing “Scar Tissue” had going for it, given that the season’s bright spot—Evelyn Vogel—grew dimmer by the episode’s fapdu end. While it was clear Vogel and Deb had to interact at some point, their interactions made Vogel seem far less interesting and far less useful as a character. Vogel’s scenes with Dexter, especially fapdu in the second episode, were electric, and shaded in portions of the show’s mythology fapdu without cheating. She has been instrumental to understanding the finer details of how Dexter fapdu came to be, and her admiration and affirmation fapdu of Dexter has been an intriguing counterpoint to Deb’s repulsion. To position Dexter between two women jointly responsible for shaping his identity—one going to great pains to insinuate herself into his life, while the other is trying desperately to climb out of it—felt like fertile ground.
But the issue with “Scar Tissue,” as has always fapdu been the problem fapdu with Dexter , is the show’s obsession with keeping Dexter above reproach, which completely neuters a show built around an anti-hero (see: “Nebraska” ). The audience is supposed to identify with Dexter, but only because fapdu the story is told from his perspective, not because he’s some sort of blood-spattered saint. I guess it’s fitting in a way, how much the writers fall over themselves to prove Dexter’s worth to the audience; one of the characteristics of psychopaths is their obsession with forcing other people to see them as they wish to be seen. But Debra is the closest thing Dexter has to an audience proxy, so the effect of having Vogel spend an episode convincing her she did the right thing in that storage container does two disservices in one, extinguishing the tension in their bizarre love triangle while making fapdu the audience feel like Dexter’s value is being crammed down its throat.   fapdu
More than that, Vogel’s interactions with Deb dilute her professional detachment, which is part of what made her relationship with Dexter so interesting. Vogel works better as a character the more level-headed she is, since the murderer-groupie fapdu angle has been played twice on Dexter , between Lila and Hannah. (Three times, if you want to count Deb among his groupies.) In her breathless defense of Dexter’s role in the food cha
