There are many photo editing website available out there but my absolute favorite is Picmonkey . It has a ton of features, is super easy to navigate, and best of all it’s free (with the option to upgrade to Royale membership for some advanced features/texts/effects.) I do most of my photo editing in Lightroom , but because I don’t have Photoshop I use Picmonkey to do certain things like add text or overlays to my pictures. If you aren’t yet ready to invest in fancy editing software, you can do some pretty neat post-processing with Picmonkey. I’ll walk you through an example.
The image above is taken straight out of camera. It is too dark, the subject is out of focus, and her facial expression is very unflattering because I pressed the shutter right as she was going into a sneeze. Normally I would have just deleted this image, ellie goulding but upon closer inspection I think it can be saved. So, I upload it to Picmonkey and start editing.
First, I CROP my image. Yes, I cropped out her head but that’s okay because now the image is more about the ice cream cone rather than the subject. Then, I click on EXPOSURE in the BASIC EDITS tab and increase Brightness +40 and increase Highlights +60.
Next, I want to warm up my picture a bit so I go to COLORS in the BASIC EDITS tab and increase the Temperature +5. Now, to add a little pizzazz to my image, I apply the TRANQUIL filter in the EFFECTS tab. I love the warm vintage feel of this filter but it’s a little too strong for my liking so I move the Fade Slider to 80% to decrease it’s strength. I’m pretty satisfied with my edit at this point but I’m slightly ellie goulding bothered by the droplets of melted ice cream on the subject’s thigh. So, I’m going to take it a step further by using a couple of the upgraded Royale features (membership is $4.99/month).
In the EFFECTS tab, there is a feature called CLONE that we are going to use to get rid of those droplets of ice cream. First, you choose a brush size and then you click on the area you want to clone. In this example, I choose a clean area of her thigh and then click and drag the cloned part to color over (or erase) the melted ice cream droplets. Then I use another upgraded feature called WRINKLE REMOVER in the TOUCH UP tab to smooth out any rough edges caused by the cloning.
Lastly, just for fun, I want to add some words to my image. I click the TEXT tab and choose the font Geo Sans Light for its simplicity. Click “Add Text” and a small pop-up window appears where I can change the color/size/alignment/transparency. Once I’m satisfied with my text settings, I drag it to the area I want in my image and voila, I’m done! I changed an almost discarded image to one that’s a definite keeper!
Beautiful job I am terrible at processing ellie goulding and barely do it I just dont understand ellie goulding PS and I dont have LR so maybe Ill look into Picmonkey I still want to really learn PS but this might help me learn something to apply to there later too.

I always loved that quote by the way. I first heard it as Enjoy your ice cream while it’s ellie goulding on the plate. Which although I treasured the sentiment, I thought that’s weird to put ice cream on the plate. Anyway, ellie goulding I like this version much better-makes more sense now! :D
